Nano-EHS and Standardization for Next-Generation Advanced Nanomaterials

Introduction

Recent developments in nanosciences and nanotechnology have led to the commercialization and incorporation of an increasing number of nanoproducts into our daily life. Since we don't fully understand the risks that these new technologies pose, there are growing concerns about how they will affect people's health and the environment. For instance, there are increasing concerns on the effects of advanced nanomaterials in the environment and human health, while developments and applications of novel 2D nanomaterials request urgent development of innovative assessment technologies for these advanced materials. In this session, we'll offer forums for discussing about important issues related to the nanosafety, standardization, and nano ESG that can help development of safe and sustainable nanotechnologies.

Topics

  • Standardization of advanced nanomaterials (quantum dots and 2D materials, etc)
  • NAMs (New Approach Methodologies): Innovative technologies for the assessments of advanced (nano)materials
  • SSbD(Safety & Sustainability by Design): Characterization and safety evaluation of nanoproducts
  • AI-based IATA (Integrated Approaches to Testing)
